I Was Given Mupirocin Ointment To Use After Stitches On

I was given Mupirocin ointment to use after stitches on my face, under my eye. A little may have got into my eye as the eye became red. Or the eye may have been bruised after the surgery and stitches. I used the ointment daily for a week. What harm could I have caused to my eye?
