Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was given a sample of dymista from my allergy dr. He told me it is a combo spray with an antihistamine/steroid in it and tha he was writing me a script for it as well for after the sample ran out. I was told it was probably not covered by my insurance. I was surprised to see it was only $6 when I went to pick it up but after reading the package when I got home I noticed it says it's azelastine hydrochloride. Is this not the same thing as the dymista? I don't see anywhere that is says anything about it containing the steroid.. Could this be a mess up by the pharmacist or is it possible the dr wrote the wrong script? I'm not sure what to do and my dr office is not open for the weekend. I can definitely remember him saying that it was the combination of antihistamine and steroid that he wanted me to take
