I Was In Bed, Just About To Dose Off When

I was in bed, just about to dose off when I inhaled chewing gum. I can feel it on my left side. In my sixties & an old asthmatic, shall I worry about coughing it up while sleeping? It's not irritating but I can feel it. Your advice please. Thank You
