I Was In The ER Yesterday With Excruciating Pain Up

I was in the ER yesterday with excruciating pain up high in my abdomen, just below my breast bone. I had a colonoscopy done 4 days ago for tarry stools and a few other symptoms. This was normal. Yesterday they did a CT scan and regular xray of my abdomen. Other than messy insides from a gastric bypass in 2006 they found diated bile duct (I had my gallbladder and appendix out in 1993). Any idea what could cause such terrible pain in the high abdomen area?
