I Was Just Prescribed Sulfamethox/trime For A Uti Infection. I

I was just prescribed sulfamethox/trime for a uti infection. I am not knowledgeable about this drug and was curious of the side-effects. I have some allergies and have recently developed a rash (live hives) on my back when some irritant triggers a reaction. Just want assures that this is a safe drug.
