I Was Making A Cake And I Can't Be Sure

I was making a cake and I can't be sure but I think one of the eggs I used was rotten. It was liquefied inside and had a weird smell to it. But the yellow of the yolk was a normal yellow color. And since I didn't have many eggs decided to just mix it in my batter. How will it affect us if it was rotten? I don't want my kids to get sick.
