I was not at this scene, and have only some key details. I am interested in opinions about a possible cause. I have my theories, and others have theirs. A 37 year old male was found unresponsive on his couch, still holding the remote. He was foaming at the mouth, and it is unknown as to how long he was there before being discovered. It is speculated that he was there for up to five hours. He is now in ICU, on paralytics and sedated. 20% of his heart functions, his liver almost failed, but has improved. His kidneys are now at risk, and he may need dialysis today. I am told that there were three blood clots that were removed from his heart. The prognosis is 50/50, according to what I have been told. Without the opinion of anyone involved, what might have caused this? I understand that there is little detail here, but I have only spoken to a liason and I am in a different state than the patient.
