I Was Punched On My Left Side Of My Face

I was punched on my left side of my face and my is black and purple and bruised and my eye vesle in my eye is broke. Than my jaw is swollen and hurt to eat I can barely open my mouth. My whole side of my face on my left side is numb ad burning. I went to the hospital and they did an X-ray on it an they said my eye bone is broke and shattered. They said the burning and numbness should go away with in a couple of days but it is still burning and hurting a
nd numb. Why is that? Could something else be causing this?
