I Was Put On Bactrium For A Possible Uti. Culture

I was put on Bactrium for a possible uti. Culture showed no growth. Urologist never told me to stop taking Bactrium. It attacked my platelets. They were 5000. Started double once off Bactrium. I am on prednisone 40 mg 2x a Day. This week started to cut to 70mg a day. My urine, bowels smell funny like ammonia. I also taste it to. Is this normal
