I Was Recently DX With Hypothyroidism And Am Scared To

I was recently DX with Hypothyroidism and am scared to even start the medication mailed to me by the clinic I use, I do not want to lose my hair. I dont have symptoms except weight gain, but blame this on having a back injury and having surgery 6 months of restricted work. I usually get in up to 19,000 steps a day and went to hardley 5,000. What happens if I just dont start the meds. I know if stopping after starting is a problem ,but if I dont start what will happen. I think stress brought the high numbers and I also have a above normal A1C. The physicians asst. doesnt know I havnt started the pills.

Any advice is appreciated !
