I Was Recently Diagnosed With Herpes Simplex One.I Was Prescribed

I was recently diagnosed with herpes simplex one.I was prescribed valacyclovir HCL 1 gram to be taken three times a day for ten days.I was also prescribed levofloxacin 500 mg to be taken once a day for ten days.I was also prescribed mucitracin ointment to be placed on my lips three times a day.I have been taking these medications for the past five days so far.Today for the first time I experienced rectal bleeding.It happened once.The remainder of the day no bleeding was experienced.I have an appointment to see my doctor next Monday,November 6.I do not know if I should continue taking this medication but it is actually clearing up my condition.I fear if I discontinue it,my lips will become infected again,yet seeing blood in my stool frightened me.I suffered a brain aneurysm five years ago and am now extra paranoid when anything happens to me.Any suggestions on what I should do?Hard to believe,but I did contract a case of the chickenpox over fifty years ago.I am now 62 years old.It took that long to acquire a case of herpes simplex one?
