Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was recently in the hospital as I had all the symptoms of a twisted intestine. I had a temporary colostomy surgery as I had a ruptured intestine in 2014 and it was reversed successfully 11 mnths later. This last time on Christmas day2016 I went to the hospital on my own as I had all the symptoms of a twisted intestine. I also have2 hernias with mesh repaired. My surgeon said I needed a tube downl my nose into small intestine to open up the intestine from scaring and blocked and twisted intestine. After 5 days I was able to go home without surgery as the intestine unlinked itself. Will I suffer from this periodically for the rest of my life and how can I avoid it from happening again? I am a 60 yr old female.
