I Was Running On A Trail And A Branch Tip

I was running on a trail and a branch tip entered the inside lower part of my shin and broke off. Might have been a bit larger than 1/8 in in diameter. Pulled it out (not easily as it was in there pretty good even though there's barely tissue and just bone there) and it just bled a few drops. Washed with soap and water and applied hydrogen peroxide once. Then neosporin a day or two after. However this happened almost a week ago and while it's been sore, feeling bruised, I've noticed a hard bump has developed on the bone about a half inch long. It is only slightly pink just around the small scab and does not appear infected. It is more sore now, and when it's in certain positions it throbs (especially when calf is pushed and skin is taut like when lying down). I've run several times since with no real pain during running, just notice soreness when I'm still. Would the force of impact be so great to injure the bone? Will I expect the bump to go down? Should I just ice and give it time, or should I have a doctor check it?
