I Was Sick With A Cold Over A Week Ago

I was sick with a cold over a week ago and almost all the symptoms have gone away, but when I tilt my head back (to look up, to gargle water, etc.), my throat feels extremely tight and I cough for a good 20 seconds. I've tried taking some cough medicine, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Should I go see a doctor?
