I Was Stung By Bee Sat Night On Back Of

I was stung by bee Sat night on back of my thigh. Since I could not reach area I could not remove stinger. Skin was red and swollen Monday so I went to Dr and received antibiotics. Was told to return if skin stayed red and rash spread. Skin is now purple, do I need to return to the Dr?
