I Was Taking Levothyroxine 50mcg For The Last Four Months.

I was taking levothyroxine 50mcg for the last four months. It was causing severe depression and weird sleep patterns so I went off the medication on my own. was this a smart decision? I could not get the nurse practitioner to listen to my concerns so I did it myself. I also have HBP and type2 diabetes I take medication for. the underside of my tongue is purple with enlarged blood vessels. can this be a result of stopping the levothyroxine?
