I Was Told By My OB That Because My First

I was told by my OB that because my first child was born premature, at 35 weeks, that they felt i should take progesterone to help prolong my pregnancy. I am currently in my 17th week of pregnancy and have taken 1 shot so far. I'm wondering if i can just say forget it and let my pregnancy go normally.
