I Was Told In June Of Last Year I Have

I was told in june of last year I have PV,IM 65 YRS. OLD AND WAS ALWAYS healthy.i was given all sorts of testand everything came back fine.my numbers in june were crazy high,i was put on hydroxyurea 500 mgs 1x a day,also I get 500cc taken out when needed,my question is was I started on to high of a dose.thank you for your time
