I Was Very Upset Today. I Don't Usually Get Upset.

I was very upset today. I don't usually get upset. My heart was slamming in my chest and it looked like from the outside of my clothes like it was trying to escape my body. I took my bp and it was 220/80. The top number may have been higher but the cuff was too painfully tight as it was. I was astonished it was so high, but what was more strange, I thought, was the bottom was 80. I took 1mg lorazepam and went to bed. It's a prescription from 7 years old from when I was very nervous about chemotherapy, which thankfully is not an issue now. I'm 55.
How could the two values in my bp be so far apart? P.S. i've been exhausted since this and it was early this morning.
