I Was Woken Up 2 Nights Ago With A Bitter

I was woken up 2 nights ago with a bitter taste in my mouth. It was not acid reflux as I have had that and it didn't come up from my throat - just a sudden bitter taste that woke me up. As soon as I put my feet down to get out of bed to drink water my left foot felt like the whole thing was bruised. I couldn't put my weight on my foot. It's still a little swollen. Thinking I had a spider bite, I looked for a bite mark, but couldn't find one. I had to buy a cane to get around yesterday. Today I went to an orthopedic surgeon to see if it was a stress fracture. He said no, but didn't know what it is. My toes are swollen, my foot is a bit swollen. The pain is deep inside the center of the foot when I put weight on it. Could it be a bite?
