I Was Wondering If It Would Be Appropriate To Ask

I was wondering if it would be appropriate to ask my dr for a refill of the pain meds he previously ordered as I am still having some soreness from open ventral hernia 4 weeks ago.
I believe my soreness is due in part to not being able to fully adhere to the non strenuous activity guildine as I am a mom to a 6 year old & almost walking 11 month old. I know there's a stigma associated with pain medication, so that makes me wary to even ask, but if I'm uncomfortable should I speak up?
