I Went For A Dental Xray And They Say I

I went for a dental xray and they say I have bone loss and a cyst in my upper left jaw, I have a tooth extraction in this area many years ago and that of caused the issue. I do not have any pain or swelling from the cyst and did not know it was there, do I need to have it removed?
