I Went To Urgent Care Because My Foot Was Swollen

I went to Urgent Care because my foot was swollen and painful and he thought it might be gout but wasn't sure so he prescribed Prednisone. However, the method in which it was prescribed was entirely different from any other time in my life that I had taken it. Usually, I believe you take it 5 or 6 times the first day and then gradually step down until the pills are all gone. What he prescribed was 2 pills each day. Isn't that unusual? Won't there be a problem when they're all gone and I abruptly stop taking them?
