I Went To Urgent Care In Sunday. My Symptoms Were

I went to Urgent care in Sunday. My symptoms were a high fever, very bad pain in throat, nausea, trouble swallowing. The physician looked in my throat and said I had large puss pockets, it was very inflamed and swollen. She did a rapid strep test. It was negative, but she started antibiotics(amoxicillin) to be safe. I still have all the symptoms and I am miserable. What could it be besides strep? I thought I would feel better by now.
