I Went To The Emergency Room., A Few Weeks Ago.,

I went to the emergency room., a few weeks ago., after having eaten a lot of sweets\ lots of sugar items not agreeing with my stomach. I was diagnosed with type two diabetes. I was prescribed Metformin hcl 500 milegrams. Not sure of the side affects but it just makes me feel a bit strange....I think it messes with my heart... I am still having some leg pain after walking after 3 mins., It does seem to be a little strong for me... I've never been on medication before., I am afraid of loosing my limbs., eventhough the doctor said I would be fine just control my diet. I think he said not to consume no more than 3000 ml of sugar a day? I am a very attractive woman at 59 yrs old., and have very nice legs., according to others. I have been depressed every since I was diagnosed with onset diabetes . I have not been taking the medicine ., I would like to cut the Metformin in half. What do you suggest?
