I Woke Up Last Night Absolutely Freezing. I Couldn't Stop

I woke up last night absolutely freezing. I couldn't stop shaking in fact my teeth were clicking I was that cold. I got up and turned up the heat and put an extra blanket on the bed. Still didn't make any difference. I then got up and put my dressing gown on and went back to bed. I couldn't get warm no matter what I did. I then had a drink of water and immediately had to vomit. I have never experienced anything like this before, could you tell me what would have caused this. Thank you
