I Woke Up Three Days Ago With Swelling On Left

I woke up three days ago with swelling on left side of neck. now both sides are swollen and under my chin. neck is stiff and painfull and also feel naseaus. i have hashimotto thyroditis and have a fusion c3 -c6. went to dr he didnt act concerned told me to apply heat and take ibprophen. any suggestions to what this may be.
