I Woke Up With A Sore Eye This Morning. It

I woke up with a sore eye this morning. It feels like it is somewhat bruised if I touch the closed eye. It feels like there is something scratchy when I blink or move the eye. I do have dry eye, but it has never felt this sore. I have tried a lubricant salve for the eye, with no relief. Wondering if it is the eyelid itself or the eye.
