I Work In A GPD Program And Have A Resident

I work in a GPD program and have a resident that yells and screams. He is in his room by himself. I finally heard him today and realized he is having an argument/yelling session with himself with two very distinct personalities. One, I would like to know what this condition is called so I can better help the Veteran? and 2, knowing we are not equipped to really help him, where is the better place for him to be to get the help he needs? A VA hospital is available to us, but it isn't a wonderful place to be.
