IM Walking 2 Miles A Day But Have Just Been

IM walking 2 miles a day but have just been told I have arthritis in my ankle due to a severe car accident. The pain is quite severe at time and the area tingles and feels inflamed. I am not on any type of medication for this. Is walking making my problem worse?
