Iam Not Getting Periods For A Month.. My Last Period

Iam not getting periods for a month.. My last period was on august 23 rd.i tested my urine and i got negetive result in pregnancy. I consulted a gynec and she done pelvic examination and give regesterone tablet.. My question is it safe? Will able to know that iam pregnant or not during pelvic exam?
