If A Child Has Been Diagnosed With Round Worms, Will

If a child has been diagnosed with round worms, will their appetite increase to compensate for the worms taking all the nutrients from the food. My granddaughter age nine was diagnosed a month ago with ring worms when she passed a ten inch live worm in her stool. She has always liked candy but never overindulged by her own choice. However, in the last several months we discovered she was eating huge amounts of candy and still loosing weight. Would the candy cravings be a means for her to get more calories in her body to offset the effects of the worms causing malnutrition?
