If a patient is drawn at around 3pm for a CBC and their platelet count is elevated then approximately two weeks later they are redrawn early in the morning and their level is normal, is there a simple explanation as to what could cause the difference?

first level was in the 500's second level was in the 300's and both were tested at separate locations
