If Prescribed Bactrim For Pilonidal Infection, Is This Typically Successful

If prescribed Bactrim for Pilonidal infection, is this typically successful treating this issue? Have taken the medication for two days and have had drainage and much relief from pressure/pain discomfort is this a good sign that this course of treatment will be successful?
