If Your Really Swollen From Your Legs And Even Above

If your really swollen from your legs and even above the knee.. he diabetic ; hypertension; kidney are only 30% ; and problems with his heart ....usually the swelling will go away if he stays off he's feet; but lately he's being swelling too quickly after he wakes up....So he has his first appointment with the kidney doctor friday....should I wait on taking him to the emergency room....and not wait til friday ...I'm scared that he might have water in his lungs too
