Ii Am Taking Sulfamethoxazole Since Last Saturday And On Sunday

Ii am taking sulfamethoxazole since last Saturday and on Sunday I started having severe pain in both my knees. Is this a side effect? The right knees is swollen a lot now. I did have a little pain in both knees before starting the medication but is now so bad that I can hardly get out of a chair or out of the car.
