I'm 40years Old. I Had A Preterm Birth In Sept

I'm 40years old. I had a preterm birth in Sept being my first pregnancy The miscarriage was as a result of cervical incompetency, after the evacuation in september, didn't see my period till Nov 2nd - 7th nov, then again 28th nov-2nd dec, another 17 dec-24th dec. i did a scan which shows everything is normal with me.I saw my menses again 8jan-13th Jan. my doctor recommends clomid to be taking along with calcium and vitamin e which i did expecting a miracle this month. Please advise is it possible to get pregnant with irregular period? I'm confused and i want to get pregnant again. pls help!
