I'm 45yo and diagnosed adhd 3 weeks ago, with another psychiatrist raising the suspicion in June 2017 when I went for a depression consultation going through a confusing period after ending a 15 year marriage 3 months earlier. I've always had the symptoms at a very high level but my married years with routines and accountabilities kept it somewhat in control. And the fact that I've taken on and off Amisulpride 50mg, twice a day but mostly one a day, as a mood stabilizer since 21yo. Over the years have sought help for deppressions but the serotonin or anxiety meds always made me feel sedated, with slow thought and movement which didn't help with my personal and professional life, so always went back to Amisulpride which did help.
With this new diagnosis I started on Concerta 36mg, Clorazepate and Agomelatine which started working well on day one and gave me a boost of hope, but from day 4 started downhill untill I couldn't feel the difference in motivation except in social and quick reward activities, and that my craving for distraction was slightly better. Today I tried going off the Clorazepate which I don't agree I need and used 50mg Amisulpride instead and, although it's only been one day gone by I feel really stable, focused, calm and normal.
I'll go see psychiatrist again in over a week and would like to know if another psychiatrist has experience in this combination that can help me judge if I should reason with her if I feel the symptoms are steady and my preferred option.
