I'm 55 Yrs. Old & Still Have A Period (very

I'm 55 yrs. old & still have a period (very heavy--clots, etc) 2-3 times a year. MD has recommended hysterectomy.....have no insurance & unable to have surgery until approved for heath benefits. In the meantime, is it safe/possible to take HRT?
