I'm 57 Yrs. Old...in 2010 After A Laproscopic Colon Surgery,

I'm 57 yrs. old...in 2010 after a laproscopic colon surgery, within a day, I woke up in what was diagnosed as Lone Paroxysmal Afib. No heart disease. I am hypothyroid of which I've been medicated for and have always taken good care of this problem. So, it was determined that my thyroid was not causing the Afib. I do have a light beard. I'm wondering if my female hormones being possibly out of balance can be causing the Afib?
