I'm 59, male. Have been taking alprazolam for anxiety and social phobia for about 13 years; now a new doctor in the clinic says that's the wrong stuff, as it suppresses the natural production of GABA, and he's tapering off the dosage; the huge volume of material online has only served to confuse me further; can you clarify the apparently conflicting information I'm finding?
