I'm 65 And Have Been Sick For Almost A Week

I'm 65 and have been sick for almost a week coughing. I took Sudanese yesterday and can feel the cough breaking up and felt better today u till I went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was blood (like in the old days when I'd be starting my period). Any ideas what would cause this?
