I'm 68 Years Old - I Fell And Had To

I'm 68 years old - I fell and had to have hip surgery 25 years ago (3 surgical pins still left in place). Up until last week I was pain free but now have a lot of pain in that hip. Could it be the pins? I was taking Celebrex but now taking ADVIL. I'm taking ADVIL - my doctor can't see me until Oct. 29th. Should I be using ice or heat and how long and how much ADVIL can I take? Thank you?
