I'm 7 Weeks Pregnant And Last Night I Had A

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and last night I had a fever of 100.3 and I called the hospital and they told me to take some tylenol. So I did And my fever went down to 98.8. But I've been having cramps and they come and go. Am I having pregnancy complications and could this make my baby have birth defects.
