Im 74 Yo, Have Had Crohns All My Adult Life.

Im 74 yo, have had crohns all my adult life. Have taken prednisone off and on,20mg every other day for last 15 yrs or so. My new gastro. doc has tapered me off and started remicade last dec,2015. Am iron deficient anemic - iron infusions, blood transfusions to try to keep hgb numbers " up". Slow bleed fom gut. When i get iron inf. They give me decadron 8 mg and it seems to help my joint pain issues for a day or so. Hips, knees mainly. Orthop. Diagnosed joints w/ joint necrosis, " early" stage. Surgery only option - a touchy situatin w/ crohns. Rock and hard place.
Should i approach my doc about periodic use of acorticosteroid w/ remicade? Otherwise ill have to continue w/ 2 or 3 doses extra str. Tylenol. Thanx, C. Gibbs
