I'm A 17 Year Old Female And Every Month My

I'm a 17 year old female and every month my menstrual cramps get worse as the months go by. Today I was on the verge of screaming and puking and all I could do was lash around in bed with a heating pad until pain meds kicked in. Is it normal for them to get progressively worse like this? I myself don't think so and I would love an answer before I have to go through it again tomorrow. Thanks.
