I'm A 19 Year Old, Sexually Active Female. I've Had

I'm a 19 year old, sexually active female. I've had a UTI before and lately I've been feeling similar symptoms. But I've also been passing what looks like chunks of bloody tissue. I have extremely abnormal irregular periods (month long, super heavy, tons of clots) so I know it's not a clot like normal. My mom had to have her uterus surgically removed because of cysts and she was consistently in pain. I've never seen an obgyn, but I went to my regular doctor who ran blood tests and said I'm extremely anemic and iron defecient. Is this a serious problem or something simpler like crazy hormones? I work part time and don't make much so I'm waiting until I'm positive to see a doctor again. Thanks!
