I'm A 22 Year Old Female And I've Been Experiencing

I'm a 22 year old female and I've been experiencing itching in the pubic area for about a month. I don't have abnormal discharge and the affected skin is white, flaky, and when the skin flakes off, the area is red, that resembles the surface of the skin when you prematurely peel off a scab. I am not sexually active and has no history of STDs. I'm wondering what might have caused this and is this treatable at home? Is it worth going in and getting it checked?
