I'm a 30yo, 3rd pregnancy now @16weeks
( I had one kidney removed after my last pregnancy due to its low functioning & full of stones). I have 2 healthy boys and those pregnancies were without problems. My OB doc put me on Macrobid 100mg once/day as a preventative measure from UTI's and kidney infections. They said the kidney I had removed was prob defective since birth. I've never had a kidney infection, am not prone to them, so is it common to be put on a low dose antibiotic for the whole pregnancy to prevent kidney infection?
