I'm A 46 Yr Old Female And Have A History

I'm a 46 yr old female and have a history of high blood pressure. I've been having a lot of pressure headaches, everyday on the left side. Today I felt a little like I had the flu (nausea, aches) and decided to check my BP and it was 163/90. I took a Coreg and some magnesium and it has gone down to 140/96 HR is 80 and I still have the pressure in my head. Is it normal to see your pulse on just one side of your neck?
